Not too glam, but strangely fun.

Since I have gotten engaged, being fit has become even more important to me; and a few weeks ago my friend asked me if I wanted to do a half marathon with her in December.
We'll see how the half marathon goes once I start working again (please, soon!!!!!) but so far, crazily enough, I have hit some point where I am starting to REALLY like running. I don't know what is going on (I like the couch way more than anything else--except shopping) but I have been doing it almost every day. Actually, I am on my way out the door right now!

Tomorrow we are going to get our pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. Yup--Easter dresses and all! If I had a closet stocked with fabulous dresses and wonderful frothy things, I think I would wear this:

Hopefully the weather will match my happy mood!

When I was in high school my good friend Tiffani and I went on a class trip to Spain. It was so wonderful and even though my parents may beg to differ with the things I learned while I was there (drinking, smoking, swearing in Spanish) it has stuck with me ever since. Hopefully next year Hunky and I will be able to explore the it again (without sharing a room with my Spanish teacher).

Before I left my mom, who is a rather serious amateur photographer, bought me a ton of film and told me very seriously that the film was to be used for photos of the architecture and art, not silly snapshots. I took her VERY seriously but I think I would have made her proud of I had come back with such a lovely photo.

You know, I really love Stockard Channing. Of course she plays one of my favorite characters of all time (how amazing is Rizzo? So much better than lame ol' Sandy). Also she was in Six Degrees of Separation, which has been overshadowed by Will Smith's other notable work (Fresh Prince, of course). She just seems like a classy broad. And I mean that in a very positive way--smart, funny, and fabulous!

Wheeee!!! This photo just makes me so happy. It makes me think of those little tumbling elves that the Lillian Vernon catalog used to sell when I was a kid.

This woman knows how to wear Marni. Sounds easy but its not.

And...

...THAT is how I am going to start my week! New changes coming.. keep close! xoxo

If only I could participate in a synchronized Barbie swim for Mr. Adler...

Have I told you lately how much I love Jonathan Adler? Right now I am trying to find out if I can visit the real life Malibu Barbie Dream House the he designed and has a Barbie museum inside. I also can't get over the Barbie hair chandelier designed by Project Runway's Chris March. Love it!

Its been a bit chilly lately and it makes me think of Portland..

Earlier this week, I watched George Cukor's Les Girls, which, according to my reliable sources, was Gene Kelly's last musical until he narrated That's Entertainment! It is silly and delightful and the costumes were almost enough to get me to do a little drawing.. a repeat performance is currently in the Netflix cue.

Why Your Honor, I am only guilty of being fabulous!

Lately, I have become much more concerned with manners. I was very lucky and had parents who believed in common graces, however, it seems like most people don't. We had Tiffany's Table Manners for Teenagers and a very vintage version of Seventeen magazine's manners guide. My mother was very smart because I think she knew that I would immediately respond to anything related to that magnificent blue.

Free time on my hands leads to danger time for Sean. It also leads to unfortunate viewings of the
Tyra show as well, but at times, I use my time more productively, like torchuring Hunky Hunkerton with plans for our "maybe" big day. However, the latest planning has not been for that kind of future--someday, Sean and I would love to live in a lovely northwest city and have our own shop where Ollie and our future little strawberries can hang out. Check out Arthur's Circus, in Australia, for inspiration:

They also do lovely photography--http://www.arthurscircus.com/

Now that Spring is slowly starting to make an appearance, all I want to do is dress up. I think I could look like a human crocus in this little getup, and that wouldn't be a bad thing. Oh, and by the way, how amazing are those shoes? If only Mr. McQueen had done those in his Target collection rather than a bunch of tee-shirts....
